Traditionally, when we think of the Tabor community and invite people to volunteer, we start with current members and maybe, ask some close family once in a while, but we don't go much farther. Also traditionally, when we invite people to Tabor, we've invited them to join us at a worship service.
+One hopes to broaden the definition of who is invited, what we are inviting them to and what their participation will look like. This invitation's goal is not focused on having them join us in worship, but in service.
When the various +One activities are completed and the service needs are fulfilled, we will hold +One Gratitude meals, inviting the whole +One community to gather, see the culmination of our collective service and thank one another for their valuable participation.
Mount Tabor is an already very involved and service-oriented church body. +One is a way to grow our service community with small asks, some very different ways to use our time and talents and contribute collectively to a large, highly visible and important ministry in our sacred space.
