Standing in the Gap

In Ezekiel 22:30, the prophet says on behalf of God, “I looked for anyone to repair the wall and stand in the gap for me on behalf of the land, so I wouldn’t have to destroy it. But I couldn’t find anyone.”

This was found when looking through old Tabor files.

[Solomon stood before the Lord’s altar and prayed:] “Constantly watch over this temple, the place about which you said, ‘My name will be there,’ and listen to the prayer that your servant is praying toward this place.” – 1 Kings 8:29 (CEB)

Ask and you shall receive

A devotion on "ask and you shall receive" emphasizes the idea that when we come to God with genuine needs and faith, He will provide, encouraging us to approach prayer with confidence, knowing that our requests will be heard and answered according to His will, often referencing the Bible verse from Matthew 7:7-8 which states, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.".

Key points to consider in a devotion on "ask and you shall receive":

"It’s Holy Ground because The Holy One is present with us."

“If there is any secret to this life I live, this is it: the sound of what cannot be seen sings within everything that can.  & there is nothing more to it than that.” ~Brian Andreas, storypeople 2008

"The meaning we attach to things matters.  In my experience, it gives itself to us as grace over and over again."

“The invitation into the Flow is a reminder to dip my toe into love, compassion, justice, mercy, gentleness, faith, forgiveness, peace, kindness, and courage.”

“For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy.”

~Elizabeth in Luke 1:44
