For the month of November:
A Generosity Culture
Everyone is invited to attend a Book Study before Worship at 9:15am in the East Classroom. There will be three sessions: November 3, 10 and 17.
Pastor Christine and Deb Elstad will introduce the native life-giving cycle, a significant foundation of a generosity culture by using the book: A Native Way of Giving by Forrest Cuch, a Ute Elder and The Rev. Michael Carney, an Episcopal priest on two Ute reservations. Books will be provided.
"Traditional Native values and practices offer new ways of seeing our world and living in it together. ... The life-giving cycle of gratifude, generosity, and abundance makes a start contrast to the arrogance, greed and destruction that are so widespread in modern day life. Our experiences of crossing cultural boundaries and adapting to new challenges give us hope that change is possible, ... the Spirit is crying out to us to find a better way forward for all of our people."
