Last month Crossroads Urban Center's food pantries served 10,479 people. That means we provided food and other necessities to 2,871 more people than we did during June of last year. Our thrift store was also very busy helping low income families last month-- giving away free clothing to 2,210 people from 929 families, That is 798 more people receiving free clothing than during the same month last year. We would not be able to serve all of those people without the support of people like you who donate food, clothing, your time and cash to support our work,

The goal of this email is to let you know about two ways you can help us serve everyone who comes to us for help this summer:

  1. Participate in our July Food Drive. Some of our faith community partners are organizing their congregations to compete for the Golden Celery Trophy but we will be counting every pound of food donated next month and reporting how much food we received from generous people like you during the month of July.
  2. Attend our Meet the Candidates Barbecue on the evening of July 10 at Liberty Park to meet people who share your value for helping others and to talk to people running for county and state offices about the need to support policies that would end hunger and homelessness.
The director of our Westside Pantry explains why our July Food Drive is so important.

Thank you for being someone who takes time to read this email and for everything you do to support Crossroads Urban Center and other organizations that make a positive impact. Our community would be a better place with more people like you in it.

Sincerely,

Glenn Bailey, Executive Director
