The Worship and Music Ministry will meet Sunday May 3rd immediately following worship.
First Things, First Mondays rally at the Federal Building 125 State Street, SLC at noon are continuing Monday, May 4 at noon. We are standing in solidarity with our immigrant and LBGTQIA+ neighbors who are being targeted in the legislature and in the streets. On Sunday, May 3, from 5-7PM, we have planned a Circle of Hope +One Gratitude Dinner, and you are invited. To share our gratitude to our members, donors, volunteers and service leaders, we want to join together as the whole service community to break bread together. We will have entertainment and some brief time to share what is happening in the Mount Tabor community to live out what Jesus asks of us in Matthew 25:35-40: Jesus tells us that when he was hungry, thirsty, and naked, his followers fed and clothed him by helping the vulnerable. "Dinner At Vinnies" service opportunity is Tuesday, May 12th from 4:30-6:30pm at the St Vincent DePaul Dining Hall at the Weigand Center downtown. Come and share Tabor’s gracious and loving hospitality with our hungry neighbors living on the streets. We always have room for more volunteers! Please see Casey White if you have any questions.
Senior Food Box Distribution Our distribution of USDA food boxes to seniors in our neighborhood continues with our next distribution set for Wednesday, May 20th. These boxes are available for those who meet eligibility guidelines and have signed up through the Utah Food Bank.
Family Promise dinner dates for 2026: Mount Tabor will be providing dinners on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and brunch on Saturday for the following weeks at Christ United Methodist Church (2375 E 3300S): April 26 - May 2; September 13 - 19. This is a great opportunity to show God’s love to unhoused Families. If you have any questions about being a volunteer, please let me know. ~Chris Jensen, Family Promise Coordinator
The Call Committee continues its work with care and prayer. We are grateful for the congregation’s ongoing prayers and support as we move thoughtfully through this discernment process and seek to follow where God is leading Mount Tabor.
Announcements for the bulletin, including names for the prayer roll, are due by Wednesdays at noon. Any prayer roll names submitted after the deadline will be included in the following Sunday's bulletin.
Crossroads Urban Center's Thrift Store at 1385 West Indiana Avenue, Salt Lake City needs your donations! Fall is a great time to clear out closets, drawers and other places to help them out. Stop by during their operating hours, no appointment is necessary, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM at 1385 West Indiana Avenue, Salt Lake City. Let them know you are from Mt. Tabor!
