Wise Women Also Came – A Women’s Christmas Retreat - Saturday, January 10, 2026, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Holladay, UT. Women’s Christmas offers an opportunity to pause and step back from whatever has kept you busy and hurried in the past weeks or months. We will begin by sharing brunch, and then dive more deeply into our theme, together, through art, poetry, music, prayer, and connective conversation. Registration is $30. Scholarships available. Register and reserve your spot by sending your name, number, and congregation to Pastor DanaLee Simon at sagehillwisdom@gmail.com.

OAKS will be meeting for lunch and fellowship on Tuesday, January 20th.

Senior Food Box Distribution Our distribution of USDA food boxes to seniors in our neighborhood continues with our next distribution set for Wednesday, January 21st.  These boxes are available for those who meet eligibility guidelines and have signed up through the Utah Food Bank.

Our Reconciling in Christ Service will be on Jan 25.

Please plan on attending Mt Tabor’s Annual Meeting to be held after services on Sunday, 8 February 2026. You can attend in person or virtually, with details to be provided soon. To have the annual report ready for this meeting, anyone writing a report needs to have it delivered by 18 January 2026 to the email addresses office@mttaborslc.org and president@mttaborslc.org. Please provide your report in Word (or other word processor) format, and not as a PDF. To provide a starting point, last year’s reports will be sent to each person who provided a report last year. These will be emailed in early 2026 or sooner. ~Dave Warren

The Call Committee continues its work with care and prayer. We are in the process of conducting first-round interviews with pastoral candidates during December, and this work may continue into the new year. We are grateful for the congregation’s ongoing prayers and support as we move thoughtfully through this discernment process and seek to follow where God is leading Mount Tabor.  

The Nominating Committee will be asking Tabor members to step up as leaders by accepting nominations for the council. Please consider saying yes to this important part of being the church as leaders for the future as we wait and prepare for a new pastor.
