Ted Peters (Ph.D., University of Chicago) is Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of Systematic Theology and Ethics at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, and co-editor with Robert John Russell of the journal, Theology and Science, at the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences. He has just published the 3rd edition of his systematic theology, God--The World's Future (Fortress 2015). He is also author of Playing God? Genetic Determinism and Human Freedom (Routledge, 2nd ed., 2002) and The Stem Cell Debate (Fortress, 2008). He is co-author of Evolution from Creation to New Creation (Abingdon 2002) and Can You Believe in God and Evolution? (Abingdon, 2009). He serves on the Standards Working Group (SWG) of the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM), which sets standards for stem cell line derivation, oocyte donation, and related practices. His current area of research centers on astrotheology: cosmology and the questions of God.
