Travis Jelsma-Beery has sent this thank-you regarding the Meal Train for Travis and Nathan.

Thank you so much for your support and for your assistance that have helped Nathan and I to get through one of the most difficult times either of us have experienced. I would like to thank you mostly for the love that has been expressed through your hugs, your words of kindness and through your actions.
Thank you to those of you who have taken time out of your days to help me to get to doctor’s appointment and to the food bank. With both of our old cars being out of commission this has been quite a blessing. Even if we had a car running it wouldn’t be safe for me to drive for quite a while and Nathan can only do so much. I guess that I have become that child that takes a village….
Thank you to those of you who helped us out with food when I came home from the hospital. We have some very good cooks at Mt Tabor and a very kind and giving church family.
Thank you to those of you who helped us out with financial gifts. I never could have asked for that kind of help. It is very difficult for me to ask for any kind of help. We definitely needed help after I lost many weeks of work and after Nathan lost his job in the middle of all of this. If anyone knows of a good employer that is looking for someone of Nathan’s high level of intelligence and would treat him right, please let us know.
Thank you to the greater Mount Tabor for the prayers without which I don’t know I would have survived my illness.
I am getting stronger mentally, physically, and spiritually. My memory seems to be improving and I am starting to get back my balance, coordination, and strength but I still have quite a way to go. This all started with a brain tumor that was putting great pressure on my optic nerves and optic blood vessels as well as my hypothalamus. I found a great surgeon at the U and we decided to open my skull to remove the tumor so that we had a better chance of getting all of it rather than if they had done the surgery through my nose. The surgeon believes they got it all and it was not cancer. I was, however, one of the 5% that had complications. Fluid built up at the site of the tumor and it dropped my electrolytes, especially my sodium, to a deadly level. I thought I was having a stroke because I couldn't walk, think or function and was having hallucinations making it difficult for me to call for an ambulance. I spent 5 days in the U ICU before being sent home because my progress with the assistance of medications and therapy warranted it. Thank God that I am home! This is where the prayers are still needed because we are monitoring my bloodwork, doing physical-therapy, and hoping that my body will help me to heal. So, it’s all depending on my body to heal itself but I believe it can with the help of God and all of your prayers.
Nathan and I live in Murray just off of I-15 at 4500 South. If anyone lives nearby and can provide us with a ride to Church while we are without wheels it would be much appreciated. We would be happy to help with the cost of gas.
Nathan and I both feel very blessed being part of the larger Mt Tabor Family! God’s Grace be with all of you and yours and the entire human race.
