Epiphany Celebration for Kids and Families will be Sunday January 8 after worship.  We celebrate the coming of the Light of the World in the season of Epiphany.  Kids will learn about Epiphany symbols and what they mean, through engaging activities.  Everyone is invited to bring their Christmas wreath greens for a small bonfire outside.  Please remove all wire, plastic, and artificial decorations from your wreaths.  You may also bring branches from your live Christmas trees.  The Magi take the Light of Christ with them to the ends of the earth! Come celebrate the many forms light occurs in the natural world!

Adult Forum on “Rights of Conscience” brief, Sunday January 15th, 9am-10am: At our council meeting December 13th, your council joined Pastor David in endorsing the upcoming Utah Supreme Court amicus brief on behalf of Planned Parenthood America of Utah. The amicus brief will be based upon the Utah Constitutional provision regarding “rights of conscience.” The council invites everyone at Tabor to bring their opinions and questions on joining the brief, and the ELCA Social Statement on Abortion, to the forum next Sunday. The council would like to see if we have consensus for joining this effort as a congregation, or if Pastor David would be representing the ELCA in Utah as an individual clergy member. Tabor would simply be saying, "Yes, we as an ELCA congregation stand behind our Church's Social Statement on Abortion that states: “there can be sound reasons for ending a pregnancy through induced abortion” and that there are situations where obtaining an abortion may be a “morally responsible” choice and the ELCA “opposes laws that deny access to safe and affordable services for morally justifiable abortions.”https://www.elca.org/faith/faith-and-society/social-statements/abortion Mount Tabor has until Friday January 27th to join the brief.

Pride Sunday celebration at Tabor on Sunday  January 29th.  We’re proud to be a Reconciling in Christ congregation of the ELCA! Join us for a special guest speaker at 10:30 worship, and a Mexican fiesta lunch at 11:30am hosted by Steve and Norma Klemz.  They are sponsoring a new community well for Norma’s hometown in Los Zapotes, Jalisco State, Mexico. We will be receiving donations for the well that day, which will provide water to four other households in the village.

Our annual congregational meeting is Sunday February 5 after worship. Your presence is a blessing as we look forward to our life together in Christ.
