• Worship in the Park

The night that Jesus shared the last supper with his disciples is remembered each year as Maundy Thursday. It is among the most important days in the church calendar. This year, Maundy Thursday has another significance for the members and friends of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church for it was fifty years ago this week, on Maundy Thursday, that Gordon Smith played is first service as our organist. 2500 Sundays ago, Gordon was a graduate student at the University of Utah working on his degree in electrical engineering. 8000 preludes, offertories and postludes ago he began his long career of inspiring and delighting us with his abundant talent. 8000 hymns ago, he began to demonstrate that no two verses of a hymn need to be played in the same way.

Please join me in reaching out to Gordon this week with cards and letters of thanks and best wishes.
