• Worship in the Park
Since more members are getting fully immunized, our Worship and Music committee is offering the opportunity to worship in-person, outside, once a month on the North lawn at Mount Tabor. Our first in-person outdoor communion service will be Sunday May 9th at 10:30am with Shem Greenwood on guitar.  This will be the only in-person service in May with the remaining services in the month on Tabor's Facebook page, and Zoom on Pentecost Sunday May 23rd.

May 9th will be a Tabor Facebook livestream service for those who choose not to come that day. Since we will not be asking anyone their vaccination status, including visitors, we will be following the standard Covid-19 mitigation protocols. Everyone will bring their own blanket or lawn chair to sit on the grass, and households will be spaced 6 feet apart, and wearing masks when on church property.  We ask everyone to please remain outside the building except to use the bathrooms.

Communion will be distributed using individual disposable cups of wine and grape juice. Folks will be invited to form a line, observing 6 foot distance between households.  Pr. David and the communion assistant will be masked and wearing disposable rubber gloves for the distribution. We will have a small garbage can for each person to drop their cup into immediately after drinking.

The Worship and Music committee hopes to offer this in-person outdoor worship option with Shem Greenwood once a month in the summer. More in-person worship dates will be announced soon. We are also planning our annual Mount Tabor Picnic and Worship in the Park on Sunday August 29th at Sugarhouse Park.

This plan helps us observe the Rocky Mountain Synod guidelines of in-person worship that are in place through the end of August. Hopefully the virus transmission rate will continue to go down through the summer, so that we can start to look at in-person worship in the sanctuary in the Fall.
