Adult Self-Compassion Retreat for the people of Mt. Tabor on October 25-27, led by Pr. DanaLee Simon!  The retreat will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and end at noon on Sunday and will be held at RITA, DanaLee’s family’s cabin near Causey Reservoir, 1.5 hours Northeast of Salt Lake City.  Retreat activities will include learning about the three doorways into the practice of Self-Compassion, building community, expressing yourself in body, mind, and spirit, taking in Nature, and being immersed in the gift of loving yourself in the way God has intended for you since the very beginning.  The cost will be covered by Mt. Tabor, aside from a $25 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot as a participant.  RSVP and payments can be given to Pastor David.  This retreat is limited to 11 participants.  RITA(Retreat in the Aspens) is a true retreat in the woods/mountains.  Huntsville is the closest town and is about 30 minutes away.  Accommodations are comfortable and sleeping options range from in a bed in a room with a closed door to a blow up mattress in an open loft.  Please express your preference when you RSVP.  Pastor DanaLee is happy to receive any questions you may have.  Her e-mail address is D_Lo777@hotmail.com.

Please contact Gov. Herbert Today for Medicaid Expansion in Utah

At the annual Utah Poverty Summit hosted by our mission partner Crossroads Urban Center on Saturday, we heard that Medicaid Expansion is on Gov. Herbert's desk and waiting for his action.

As you know, Utah voters passed Proposition 3 for Medicaid Expansion in our last election and the Utah Legislature amended it as SB 96. Gov. Herbert signed this into law.

SB 96 did not receive approval from the Trump Administration, and as the current Utah law stipulates, Medicaid Expansion must now be initiated in its original form.

I urge you to join me in calling Gov. Herbert today and asking him to act now to preserve Medicaid Expansion in Utah.  Thousands of Utahns depend on it for basic, life-saving healthcare.  Medicaid Expansion means fewer Utah families will face homelessness because of catastrophic illness and crushing medical debt.

Please call Gov. Herbert's comment line at (801)-538-1000, or go to governor.utah.gov/contact.

Thank you for taking this simple action today to advocate for those living with no healthcare, and one paycheck away from the street.  These are the ones Christ stands among today, calling us to find Him there.

God bless you, and thank you for living God's love in the world,

Pr. David
