The theme for our Wednesday Holden Evening Prayer in Lent is “Create in me a clean heart O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”  Tabor's Sharon Kessinger is preparing an art installation on the theme of "Renewal" for the sanctuary.  We will have a speaker each week, sharing their thoughts on the theme of “Renewal".  The speakers are  Mallory deForest, Philip Goard, Pr. Reba Kiger-Kolasch, Liz Kuhlman, and Pr. DanaLee Simon.  Our Wednesday offerings will be designated for the ministry of our sister church in the Rocky Mountain Synod, Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey in El Paso, TX as they continue to do God’s work of compassionate accompaniment of refugees and their families on the US –Mexico border. Their three main goals for 2019 are to raise money for a new roof, a new 15 passenger van, and to open a new Hospitality Center with the capacity to host 60 to 80 refugees.

Please check your kitchens for any "Boxtops for Education" you might have clipped and collected over the past few months.   These will be sent, in April, to the Navajo Lutheran Mission School in Rock Point, Arizona to benefit their education needs.   It is amazing how they add up and what wonderful supplies they can provide for the school.  You will recall that the Campbell Soup "Labels for Education" program has been discontinued so, if you still have some of these, just toss them away.   You will be surprised how many different boxed and packaged products contain the "Boxtops for Education" so keep your eyes open for them.  Please turn these in to Barb Moore or the church office during the month of March.
