Happy October everyone! We are celebrating with beer and brats after worship, October 7th. Bring your own beer! Brats and buns along with root beer will be provided. Hope to see you there!
Crossroads October Diaper drive for homeless children begins today! Please bring baby wipes and disposable diapers (all sizes needed) to the church narthex for the month of October. We are joining with our mission partners at Crossroads Urban Center for this annual awareness of the needs of too many families in our community. Thank you for your support!
Martha Circle Bible Study meets Thursday, October 11th at 1pm at Tabor. All women are invited.
OAKS (Older Adults Knowing Strength) meet for a catered lunch and informal conversation Wednesday, October 17th at noon. Please RSVP to Brenda Wardle in the office if you can come.
Faith, Ethics, and Science Roundtable We will meet at the Research Administration Bldg conference room at the University of Utah campus on Monday, October 29 from 11:30am to 1pm. See the Tabor website mttaborslc.org for this event, including an interactive campus map. Please join us and invite friends and co-workers!
Choir rehearsals are now Sunday mornings at 9:15am. All ages and abilities are invited! The choir is directed by Harry Heightman who always shows us that laughter and singing is good for the soul. Newcomers are most welcome!
New member orientations in October with Pr. David, from 9:15am to 10am in the narthex. Please contact Pr. David if you are interested!
Youth and Family, Saturday, October 20th. We’re meeting at Mount Tabor at 11 am. Bring a lunch and eat with your friends before we carpool to the Crazy Corn Maze at 8800 South 4000 West in West Jordan, Utah. After getting lost in the maze we can pick a pumpkin from their pumpkin patch. Hope to see you then!
Operation Christmas Child
Here is a copy of a message sent to Operation Christmas Child.
“Thank you so much for all that you do for children. You all have a big and beautiful heart. I have four children who received the blessing of a shoebox. The joy and excitement that they felt was so great that it made me cry to see them because it’s been a very long time since they have been given a gift. I am a single mother and as I’m sure you understand, it’s very difficult to give something to each of them, but when they opened the shoeboxes, there was enormous joy. I live in Columbia, and I never imagined that here we would be blessed with these boxes. Thank you so much for these gifts. God bless you and give you health that you may continue to spread joy to the children. Xiomara G.”
The item for October is actually writing a letter to the child who will receive the box. I will schedule a couple times in October after worship for anyone who wants to help pack boxes. Remember, boxes will need to be at church by November 11 and each box requires $9 for shipping.

We will be sorting food on Saturday, October 6th from 10 a.m. to noon. Please join us at the Utah Food Bank, 3150 South 900 West, at 10 a.m. All are invited.
